Holden lies to some of the people he meets and the readers of the book. Holden gives one nice mother who's son goes to pency then he gives her a fake name called Rudolf Schmidt. He keeps doing this to a lot to people like the bartender. He does this to trick people it seems but this has a deeper meaning because he doesn't want to be remembered by the people he meet. Only the most trusted people he knows hardly but sometimes gets told lies by him. Trying to stay off the radar and not be known at all because hes trying to break the pattern of the society set.
