The idea that marriage is the greatest thing is half a lie set in stone in the world by the past. I don't hate marriage but it has steered from its original course. It became more about the looks and sometimes to show off. The reasons to get married even changed in ways but the main reason is still there. The main reason is love but now it seems like some are for fame or even to get rich quick schemes by people. Everything changes even morals of people but what this is changing into is terrible. There's many traditions around the world for marriage and those are better than ours. Love is the main reason why for a lot of people but changes and turns to greed.

lies

Holden lies to some of the people he meets and the readers of the book. Holden gives one nice mother who's son goes to pency then he gives her a fake name called Rudolf Schmidt. He keeps doing this to a lot to people like the bartender. He does this to trick people it seems but this has a deeper meaning because he doesn't want to be remembered by the people he meet. Only the most trusted people he knows hardly but sometimes gets told lies by him. Trying to stay off the radar and not be known at all because hes trying to break the pattern of the society set.

The quote describes him by following is own set of rules. Holden doesn't like to follow the rules and laws given to him by others. This relates to the book because you see Holden doing what he wants to and not really obeying society's laws. This is shown by him drinking under age, hiring a call girl and smoking are the big the major ones. This shows Holden is trying to break out of a mold set for him. The quote stands strong in morals of people who follow what is right to do not what the law says which can be wrong. Take the rebellions happening in the world. The rebels see the laws that are going on and even the government are corrupted so they rebel against following their moral law they live by.

Grief is normal to happen. When Holden feels grief about his brother you get more insight towards him. The great times he had with Allie. This shows Holden is not evil but is misunderstood. The grief he feels about Allie's death was in anger and after a while he hides the grief so nobody would know. " I broke all the windows with my fist." was a way to deal with the pain Holden felt. My impression didn't change i still think he acts normal. Holden's anger then to hiding the pain he felt about his brother. People in society handle grief differently. Some people handle it very well and do fine after. While others Might deal with it more harshly like an overly long period of depression or to the most extreme to harm others who caused it or couldn't help at all and closely and if something heinous happens they might even kill people.
